The Hard Quartet, formed in 2024, comprises four seasoned musical extraordinaires: Emmett Kelly of the Cairo Gang, Matt Sweeney of Chavez, Jim White of Dirty Three, and Stephen Malkmus. Both Emmett and Matt are signed to Domino Publishing.

Emmett Kelly is a songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist, best known for his work with the Cairo Gang and The Double, as well as collaborations with artists such as Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Ty Segall, and Rob Mazurek, among others.

Similarly, Matt Sweeney is a songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist, renowned for his work with Chavez and Superwolf, as well as collaborations with artists ranging from Cat Power to Johnny Cash and Neil Young.

The Hard Quartet is set to release their debut record in October 2024.
