Josh Kaufman is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, arranger and producer best known for his work with Grateful Dead founder Bob Weir, The National,  Mary Chapin Carpenter, Hiss Golden Messenger, I’m With Her, This Is The Kit,  Anais Mitchell, Josh Ritter, Craig Finn, The Hold Steady and The War on Drugs. He is a member of the groups Muzz and Bonny Light Horseman whom he has also produced.

As a producer, Josh discusses his approach to working with artists by emphasizing the importance of capturing the raw, live energy of a performance. He talks about his instrumental album, What Do the People in Your Head Say to Each Other, and how embracing imperfection has become a central theme in his work.
