The two Joe’s bring us Hatcham Social, Wet Dog, Crystal Stilts, Allo Darlin’, The Lodger and This Many Boyfriends. Whether it’s resurrecting lost 80’s European electro, or championing the best bands on the London scene – their constant motif is an undeniable, underlying pop appeal.

    Glyph is a new label and publishing house for electronic music. Glyph was launched in late 2011 by Matt Sweeney, Michael Mercer (Domino Recording Co) and James Cator (DJ, based at Eagle Rock). Alongside Essáy, their first signings include Squarehead and Falcon Lake from the UK and Canada’s Trevor & Ever. Domino Publishing administer its works Worldwide.

    Oval

    Record label Oval was the passion project of the late Charlie Gillett and his friend and neighbour, Gordon Nelki. The production company and publishing house was founded in 1972, initially intended to house the reissues of Charlie’s favourite Louisiana rock ‘n’ roll and swamp pop music. Before long, the label diversified into another one of Charlie’s favourite genres: reggae.

    Success eluded them, and they decided to leave the reissue business as the label began to represent contempora...

New partners Sarah Bolshi & Ben Turner joined in 2000 – Sarah running the label day to day, whilst all three influenced the label’s shape and direction. Renowned for its expansive and eclectic roster, as well as an unswerving dedication to the leftfield, roster includes: Plastic Mermaids, Alice Jemima, L.A. Salami, Dub Pistols, Joshu and Holida...
