In the singular work of Fermanagh-born, Dublin-based composer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist RÓIS, the endlessly innovative artist is compelled by Ireland’s rich cultural and societal heritage to serve as a foundation for their work. Interwoven in RÓIS’s fascination with ancestral traditions and traits is her truly singular sound, which melds propulsive electronic textures offset by traditional folk sensibilities, creating an immersive realm where echoes of the past are reborn in a contemporary context. Domino is thrilled to announce that they’ve welcomed RÓIS to its label and will be re-releasing a remastered version of her critically acclaimed album, MO LÉAN, an affecting resuscitation of the ardent rituals surrounding death in Ireland until the 1920s. A vital and stirring musical exploration, MO LÉAN was awarded the Album of the Year title at the Northern Ireland Music Prize, and was shortlisted for the Choice Music Prize. Praise for RÓIS’s idiosyncratic style continued throughout 2025 with ‘Caoine’ being named Best Original Folk Track at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards, where she also took home the Best Emerging Artist award.
